A simple homemade version, free from preservatives and additives. In this video, I’ll show you how to make homemade boiled condensed milk from scratch and use it for a cookie cake or to fill shortbread cookie shells. Simple steps, minimal ingredients, and amazing taste. Ingredients: 1 liter of milk (3.2% fat) 200 g of sugar 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda (to keep the cream from getting too dark) Tools: A pot with a thick bottom (diameter ~23 cm / ~9 inches) Spoon for stirring Instructions: In the pot, combine milk, sugar, and baking soda. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Heat over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly to prevent foam from settling. Once boiling, reduce to low heat and let it simmer. After 20 minutes, continue stirring. After 40 minutes, stir constantly to prevent burning. Keep stirring until fully cooked (about 60 minutes from the start). When done, pour the cream into a clean container and let it cool completely on the counter. After cooling, you can use it for a cookie cake or to fill shortbread cookie shells. For richer flavor, let the cream sit for 1 hour. Tip: Adding baking soda helps maintain a light color without affecting the taste.
