Opposition to the proposed NTPC nuclear power project has intensified in Nabarangpur district. More than 5,000 people reportedly participated in a massive protest rally at Tentulikhunti Block. Protesters alleged that land surveys and other preliminary activities are being carried out without providing complete information to local residents. The protesters demanded transparency from the government and insisted that no project-related work should move forward without the consent and participation of local people. A massive protest rally was organized in Tentulikhunti Block of Nabarangpur district against the proposed NTPC nuclear power project. Thousands of people gathered at Majhiguda Square and marched towards the area in front of the Sub-Collector's Office, where a protest meeting was held. Protesters alleged that surveys and land-related activities were being carried out without properly informing the local population. They also raised concerns over the alleged involvement of a private agency in efforts related to the proposed nuclear power project. The protesters demanded that the government disclose complete information about the project and hold discussions with local residents before taking any further steps. They further said that the rights of tribal communities over land, forests and livelihood must not be ignored. The protesters warned that the movement would be intensified if their demands were not addressed.
