Flood Hits Kotpad || Over 15 Villages Submerged Rain Decreases || 250 people shifted to safety area

Due to three days of continuous rainfall, a flood-like situation has emerged in Kotpad area of Koraput district. People have remained waterlogged and stranded for the last two days. Although the rainfall has decreased, the suffering of the people has increased. Several villages and farmlands have been submerged in floodwater. The administration has continued rescue and relief operations. More than 15 villages under Gumuda, Sadarga, Bania and Sutipadar panchayats of Kotpad Block in Koraput district have been submerged. Heavy rainfall in the upper catchment areas of the Indravati River has caused the water level to rise. Residents were frightened when floodwater suddenly entered the villages late at night. So far, around 250 people are being shifted to safer locations by the administration.
