The Velaro for Egypt has had a remarkable journey. Built in Krefeld, Germany to the highest engineering standards, the Velaro for Egypt underwent rigorous testing before being shipped to Alexandria. Now on display at TransMEA 2025, the Velaro for Egypt marks a new era in the country’s rail transportation history. Reaching speeds of up to 230 km/h, it will cut travel time by 50%, offering millions of Egyptians a safe and reliable travel experience. This is the first high-speed train out of a fleet of 41 Velaros, 94 Desiros, and 41 Vectrons that we are delivering to Egypt, part of a 2,000-km network we’re building to provide Egyptians with safe, fast, and clean transportation. #TransformMobilityInEgypt #TransMEA2025
