What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus?

What does it actually mean to be a disciple of Jesus? Following Jesus involves more than believing the right things or doing Christian activities. It means learning from Jesus how to live our everyday lives as his apprentices. In this video, I explore some of the questions that begin to shape that kind of life: What is God doing in the world, and who is God really like? What does it mean to love God and love my neighbor—and what does love actually look like in practice? We also consider the part of life God has entrusted to each of us—our relationships, responsibilities, work, choices, and influence. How do I represent Jesus there? How do I become increasingly like him rather than simply knowing more about him? And discipleship isn't something we were meant to do alone. What does it mean to live as part of a community of other Christians who are also learning to follow Jesus? These aren't questions we answer once and move on from. They are questions that can help guide a lifetime of learning to live with Jesus and become more like him.
