Michel Blavet Sonata Op.2 No.3 in E minor

Michel Blavet (1700-1768) was one the finest flautist in 18th century Europe, certainly the best in France. Even Quantz expressed his great admiration for Blavet's playing. His virtuosity, clear intonation, and expressive playing set the standard for flute playing. His flute sonatas are less brilliant and are targeted towards amateurs. It represents a synthesis of the French and Italian styles of the 18th century.
