Living in Ecuador feels like stepping back into the 90s, and for our expat family, that’s the best part. Who doesn’t miss the 90s? Ecuador doesn’t. We’re still living in them here at the middle of the world! At least it sure feels that way. So much of what we love about expat life in Ecuador harkens back to a simpler time: more community, less pressure, and kids who actually get to be kids. Raising our four children abroad has given us a childhood for them that looks a lot like the one we grew up with, without the constant stress that seems required for kids (and parents!) in so much of the world today.
