The Top 30 songs with 5 extras by Bon Jovi, REO Speedwagon, Cock Robin, Urgent and Billy Crystal from the 1985 singles charts of Billboard and Cash Box magazines for weeks ending August 10, 17, 24 and 31. Unlike for my books, Ranking the ‘60s and Ranking the ‘70s (with Bill Carroll), in which a weighted ranking system was used, I used a simple reverse ranking system, assigning 1 point to No. 30, 2 points to No. 29, etc. I kept it simple since we’re dealing with four weeks rather than a longer duration, like a year. Four songs were copy-protected so I substituted covers for them.
