FlexSim Point Cloud Import Tool

Bring real-world point clouds into your FlexSim models! In this video, we demonstrate the Simulation Bureau FlexSim Point Cloud Importer, a simple library tool that imports .xyz point clouds as colored 3D references. We’ve been testing it with scans captured using an iPhone’s LiDAR sensor. Other scanning tools can also be used, provided their output follows the supported XYZ format. Once imported, you can adjust point size and visibility and save the cloud with your FlexSim model. Point clouds provide visual context; they do not automatically create simulation objects, surfaces, or collision geometry.
