Curly Bill Brocius shot Tombstone's town marshal at point-blank range. Then a court let him walk. October 1880. A drunken spree, a dark vacant lot, and a marshal who reached for a gun without drawing his own. What happened in that lot set Tombstone on a road to two years of bloodshed. This is the untold story of Curly Bill Brocius, the rustler with no settled name, and of the sheriffs, speculators, and politicians who divided the law in Cochise County between them.
