📘 Smart, Not Fast + The Complete Smart Pickleball Library (4 books for players over 60): https://smartpickleball.netlify.app/?... The player nobody wants to face at your park usually isn't the fastest or the hardest hitter. It's the one whose ball keeps coming back low, deep and in the middle until you miss. If you're over 60, that player can be you — without running more or swinging harder. Five small habits, and you can start the first one the next time you play. In this video: • Piece 1 — Count your gifts. Most rallies end on an error, not a winner. How to count the points you give away in the first four shots, and why serving and returning into the big middle of the court cuts them down. • Piece 2 — Decide before it bounces. Drive, drop, reset or leave: say one word before the ball bounces on your side. Why an early decision buys back the time your legs no longer give you. • Piece 3 — Slow down what comes fast. The early reset from the middle of the court: paddle still, face slightly open, half grip — and when to step in and when to stay put. • Piece 4 — Watch the player, then the ball. Their feet, their paddle face and the size of their backswing: clues, not certainties. • For knees, shoulders and elbows that aren't what they were: how to run all of this with less movement, plus a "catch the egg" wall exercise you can do tonight. • The final key — Keep your own score. Why open play builds mileage but not always skill, the two-line note after every session, and what Earl meant by "Dangerous isn't hard. Dangerous is the same ball, again." Next time you play, count your gifts for one game and write the number in the comments. Everything in this video is written down in order in Smart, Not Fast, Volume 2 of The Complete Smart Pickleball Library — drills, practice cards and a source for every fact: https://smartpickleball.netlify.app/?... It is not medical advice and does not treat, cure or prevent any injury or condition. Talk to your doctor before starting or changing any physical activity, especially if you have knee, hip, back, shoulder, elbow, wrist, heart, eye or balance problems. Warm up your wrist, elbow and shoulder before you play, keep your swings short, and stop if anything hurts. Wear protective eyewear on the court. Never backpedal, dive or lunge for a ball; for a lob, turn sideways and walk back or leave it to your partner. Results vary from player to player and nothing here is guaranteed.
