📘 Smart, Not Fast + The Complete Smart Pickleball Library (4 books for players over 60): https://smartpickleball.netlify.app/?b=2&v... Most of the points you lose aren't lost because you're slow. They're lost a second earlier, with five small habits nobody ever pointed out to you. The first one happens before your opponent even touches the ball — and not one of the fixes asks you to run, bend low or swing harder. In this video: • Mistake 1 — You serve and step in. Why the two-bounce rule turns that happy little step into a ball at your heels, and how to "serve and stay" (or start half a step deeper) so every move after your serve is a move forward. • Mistake 2 — You hold the paddle like a frying pan. Why the flat "pan" grip sends backhands up at the kitchen, how to find the continental grip (hold it like a hammer), and what it honestly costs you. • Mistake 3 — You take a big swing at a ball that isn't high enough. The net, the geometry and why a short punch beats a big swing on balls above the net but below your head. • Mistake 4 — You rock in and out at the kitchen line. How to plant your feet, move sideways and stop drifting back — less work for knees and hips. • For knees, shoulders and elbows that aren't what they were: how to run all four fixes with less movement, plus a simple wall exercise you can do tonight. • The final key — You never ask. The one question to ask the player who just beat you, and what the oldest competitive player in the record books, Joyce Jones, has to do with it. Try "serve and stay" the next time you play, then tell me in one word how it went: easy, hard or strange? Write it in the comments. Everything in this video is written down in order in Smart, Not Fast, Volume 2 of The Complete Smart Pickleball Library — drills, practice cards and a source for every fact: https://smartpickleball.netlify.app/?b=2&v... It is not medical advice and does not treat, cure or prevent any injury or condition. Talk to your doctor before starting or changing any physical activity, especially if you have knee, hip, back, shoulder, elbow, wrist, heart, eye or balance problems. Warm up before you play. Wear protective eyewear on the court. Never backpedal, dive or lunge for a ball; for a lob, turn sideways and walk back or let your partner take it. Work within a comfortable range and stop if your elbow, wrist or shoulder complains or anything hurts. Results vary from player to player and nothing here is guaranteed. Jenny is a digital presenter. The coaching stories in this video are told for teaching purposes; Earl, the old coach, is a fictional character. #pickleball #seniorpickleball #pickleballtips #pickleballover60 #pickleballbeginner
