15 Games With Surprisingly Great Stories

These are 15 games with surprisingly great stories — titles I went into for the gameplay and stayed for the writing, from Titanfall 2's pilot-and-Titan bond to Sleeping Dogs' undercover tension in Hong Kong. A fishing trip in Dredge, a hitman's therapy sessions in Katana ZERO, and a bunch of rectangles in Thomas Was Alone all earned their spots too. No spoilers, just why each one stuck with me. Also in the list: Yakuza 0, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, Inscryption, CrossCode, Psychonauts 2, The Talos Principle, SANABI, To the Moon, Portal 2, and Spec Ops: The Line. Some of these I expected to like and ended up loving for completely different reasons. If you've played any of them, tell me which one surprised you the most. 00:00 Intro 00:12 Titanfall 2 01:38 Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition 02:53 Dredge 03:44 Katana ZERO 05:05 Thomas Was Alone 05:43 Yakuza 0 07:22 Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons 08:19 Inscryption 09:23 CrossCode 10:47 Psychonauts 2 11:46 The Talos Principle 12:51 SANABI 14:12 To the Moon 15:22 Portal 2 16:29 Spec Ops: The Line 17:55 Outro #gameswithgreatstories #titanfall2 #sleepingdogs #dredge #storygames #yakuza0
