Morning Watch Dances: Salu Paliya

Salu (white) Paliya, is the second demon to appear. He is so-called as he has a white shawl. He appears after Pandem Paliya. He enters from the Demon Palace to him special drumbeat, dances around the Performance Area and then unlike Pandem Paliya, engages in a comic and often insulting, ribald interchange with the Drummer. This is much to the amusement of the Audience and the Patient! At the end of his appearance he waves his shawl over the Patient and returns to the Demon Palace.
