By the end of a Sunday-night grading stack, “Good job. Watch your eye contact.” was the best feedback Norma Jones could manage. Jones, a communication studies professor and AI + OER coordinator at Antelope Valley College, shares her 5-step workflow for using AI to give consistent, specific, warm feedback in her own voice. She sets context with her rubric and materials, speaks her own observations into the chat, reviews and revises the draft, saves her final version as an exemplar, and reuses the verified setup. Student names, recordings, and work stay out of the AI chat, and she still watches every speech, checks every line, and assigns every grade. AI didn’t make her a different teacher. It helped her practice at scale the teacher she was already trying to be. To learn more about Google for Education at California Community Colleges, go to: https://cccdigitalcenter.org/projects...
