Political activist Yogendra Yadav and AISA President Neha Bora were among the prominent faces of the demonstration. Heavy police deployment and multi-layer barricading were put in place across central Delhi as protesters attempted to march towards Jantar Mantar. Several protesters were detained during the demonstrations. A major controversy erupted over the detention of Neha Bora. AISA alleged that Bora was taken away by Delhi Police in an “unauthorised vehicle” without a female constable present. A post from Neha Bora’s X account asked where police were taking her and described the detention as “kidnapping.” This remains an allegation made by Bora and AISA; authorities have not characterised the incident as an abduction. Protesters were also seen gathering around the vehicle carrying Bora and attempting to stop it from leaving. AISA claimed at the time that her whereabouts were unknown. The demonstrations are part of continuing protests over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and demands for the resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar.
