The Supreme Court has issued notices to the Centre, Election Commission, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and other officials over petitions challenging decisions related to the voter list and SIR process. During the hearing, the CJI questioned changes made to Form 6 and said the court would examine who made the changes and could cancel anything found to be wrong. The petitions allege that changes to Form 6 created additional requirements for voters and raised concerns over the deletion and restoration of names. The hearing also brought attention to repeated written objections reportedly raised by Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi. Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court questioned the Goa Election Commission over voter deletions and the functioning of Form 8 during the SIR process.
