Day 91. Six in the morning. Tess's brother is alive, and he's holding their dead mother's hand in a parking lot full of three thousand frozen dead. He won't come in. He thinks you killed her. And it's getting warmer. Part 4 of the supermarket story. Watch Parts 1 to 3 first on the channel. This is a fictional survival story. The practical details in it are real: Frostbite can turn skin white or grayish-yellow, and make it feel unusually firm or waxy and numb. If medical care isn't available, put the area in warm, not hot, water, and don't rub it (CDC). Wet, heavy snow can weigh about seven times as much as light, dry snow (FEMA). Signs that a roof is overloaded with snow include popping, cracking and creaking noises, sagging ceiling tiles, and doors that can no longer be opened or closed (FEMA).
