BAD EXPERIENCE Entering Bolivia (7 Hours Stuck!)

What was supposed to be a standard travel day turned into an absolute test of patience! In this video, I take you through my exhausting journey crossing the border from Peru into Bolivia. I ended up stuck in a massive, chaotic line for 7 straight hours just to get my passport stamped. If you are planning to travel between Peru and Bolivia, you should know that there are two very different ways to cross the border: 🛂 The Border Crossings Explained The Desaguadero Crossing (Where I Was): This is the main cargo and commercial crossing located on the direct highway between Puno and La Paz. It is notoriously chaotic and heavy with long lines of trucks, traders, and locals. Wait times here can be brutal due to the sheer volume of traffic and cargo. It lacks tourist-friendly infrastructure, which makes it a really overwhelming experience. The Kasani / Copacabana Crossing: This is generally the friendlier, more scenic route preferred by most international travelers. It is quieter, usually has shorter queues, and drops you right near the beautiful town of Copacabana. 🌊 The Magic of Lake Titicaca Despite the terrible wait, this border sits right on the edge of the incredible Lake Titicaca. The scenery is the one thing that kept me sane! Highest Navigable Lake: Lake Titicaca sits at a staggering elevation of 3,812 meters (12,507 feet) above sea level in the Andes. This makes it the highest commercially navigable lake in the world. The Sacred Waters: The water here is famous for its intense, mesmerizing blue and turquoise colors. Because of the extreme altitude, the crisp mountain air allows the water to perfectly reflect the sky and the surrounding snow-capped peaks. Incan Mythology: These pristine waters are highly sacred in Andean culture. According to local mythology, this lake is the actual birthplace of the Inca civilization and the sun god.
