Hello and welcome to Deaf Talks News!
India has one of the highest numbers of road deaths in the world.
Every year about 1.7 lakh people die in road accidents in India.
That is around 460 people every single day.
Many accidents happen because the driver was late to press the brake, tired, sleepy, looking at the phone, or just not paying attention for a second.
Therefore, the government has now introduced Automatic Emergency Brakes.
What is an Automatic Emergency Brake?
It is called AEB, or Automatic Emergency Braking.
Simple explanation: the car has a camera or sensor in the front.
It keeps watching the road.
If a vehicle, person, or animal suddenly comes in front and the driver does not press the brake, the car presses the brake by itself.
It can stop the crash or make it much less dangerous.
The central government has decided to make automatic emergency brakes compulsory in all cars from 2030.
In October 2026, older models of these vehicles must also add them.
In October 2027, big trucks must have automatic emergency brakes.
2030: all cars.
India's goal is to cut road deaths by half by 2030.
Experts also say the system must be made to suit Indian roads where people often cross in the middle of the road or stand between vehicles.
Will see how this new technology will help reduce death in India.
