She Turned Down the FBI to Build Forsyth County's Leaders

Tammy Bramblett was accepted into the FBI Academy. Then her dad got sick, and she chose a different way to serve. For nearly 18 years, Tammy has led Leadership Forsyth, a program that has helped shape many of the people making an impact across Forsyth County. In fact, 11 of the 30+ guests we've had on The Bettis Musgrove Show have gone through the program. In this episode, Ben and Spenser sit down with Tammy to talk about what Leadership Forsyth actually does, why the organization started in 1989, the 45 high school students participating in its youth program, a 5 a.m. food line most people in Forsyth County have never heard about, and the day The Oprah Winfrey Show called and Tammy thought it was a prank. Applications for the adult Leadership Forsyth program open February 1. Free one-hour information sessions are held in March at 8 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. Learn more at leadershipforsyth.org CHAPTERS 00:00 Welcome to The Bettis Musgrove Show 01:48 Meet Tammy Bramblett 09:02 Accepted to the FBI Academy, then a different path 12:34 How Tammy found Leadership Forsyth 20:20 The youth program and 45 student leaders 22:37 Spotting ChatGPT essays 24:25 Why Leadership Forsyth started in 1989 30:06 What a year in the program looks like 32:28 The FISH philosophy 34:40 Class projects that leave a legacy 35:04 High Tower and the 5 a.m. food line 37:55 The Benefits Bus 43:17 How the class supported Spenser's family during deployment 49:49 When applications open 50:23 Who the program is and isn't for 51:16 Rapid fire 55:52 The day Oprah called 58:19 Dinner with Bruce Springsteen 59:13 Roll Tide predictions ABOUT THE BETTIS MUSGROVE SHOW The Bettis Musgrove Show is a community podcast from Bettis Musgrove, a personal injury law firm in Cumming, Georgia.
