🤍 I'm Thanh, a 24-year-old living alone in Hanoi, Vietnam, with my cat in a small rented room. On this channel, I share my simple everyday life, home-cooked meals, and my journey toward building a better life—one day at a time. 🌿
In this video, I challenge myself to go grocery shopping in Hanoi with just 300,000 VND (about $12) — roughly what I earn in a full day of work.
Vietnam is often known as one of the most affordable countries in Asia, especially for travelers. But what does everyday life actually cost for someone who lives and works here?
I head to a supermarket in Hanoi to see how much everyday groceries really cost, from meat and vegetables to fruit, milk, snacks, sushi, and more. With only $12 to spend, I try to buy enough food to get me through the week while living alone.
After shopping, I head home to cook a simple dinner with what I bought and prepare some leftovers for work the next day.
If you've ever wondered what $12 can buy in Vietnam, what grocery shopping is like in Hanoi, how much things cost here, or what it's like to live alone on a local salary, I hope this video gives you a realistic glimpse into everyday life in Vietnam.
🤍 Thank you for being here and following along with my little journey. Your support means more to me than you know.
I hope to see you in the next video. Until then, take care. 🌿
