I Wasn’t Ready for This Adventure | Hatonosu Gorge, Tokyo

What if you could escape the crowds without leaving Tokyo? In this vlog, I travel from Yokohama to Hatonosu Gorge (鳩ノ巣渓谷) in Okutama, Tokyo, looking for a quieter and more natural side of Tokyo, Japan. I had no big plan—just the feeling that I wanted to go somewhere different. When the rain stopped, I decided to make the journey to Hatonosu. What followed was a long walk through the gorge, beautiful rivers and bridges, waterfalls, Shiromaru Dam, and quiet mountain scenery far from the busy streets of central Tokyo. I wasn’t exactly dressed or prepared for a hike, and at times the walking was harder than I expected. My shoes were slippery, my ankle started to hurt, and there were moments when I wondered if I should turn back. But then I kept discovering something new around the next corner. From Hatonosu Station to the waterfalls and eventually toward Okutama Station, this became much more than I expected—a slow, spontaneous journey into a quieter side of Tokyo.
