🎬 You Can’t See What’s Inside This Cave | My Real Experience

What is it really like to enter Taya Cave alone? I originally planned to visit Sarushima, but because of the weather, I changed my plan and decided to visit Taya Cave (Taya no Dokutsu) in Yokohama, Japan. I didn’t know that photography and video recording were prohibited inside the cave. So I had to turn off my camera and experience the cave for myself. At first, I thought I would be fine. But as I went deeper, it became darker and darker. There were places where I couldn’t clearly see the path, and I was basically guessing where to walk. My heart was trembling. My little candle went out several times because of the wind, and I had to stop and light it again. Somewhere in the darkness, I could hear the sound of water in the distance. Somehow, that sound helped me keep going. I was scared because I was alone, but at the same time, I felt strong. This journey also gave me an unexpected experience with the kindness of people I didn’t know. An elderly man I met at the bus stop guided me all the way to the cave and even came back after saying goodbye to show me where I should catch the bus when I finished. And when I finally came out of the cave, it was raining heavily—and I even got a little lost trying to find my way back. This wasn’t the journey I originally planned, but it became an experience I will remember. Being brave doesn’t mean you’re not scared. Sometimes being brave is simply continuing while you’re scared. The cave contains Buddhist images and places of worship carved into the cave over many years. Because this is a sacred place, photography and video recording inside are prohibited. I respected the rules and chose to experience the cave without filming.
