A single wrong turn at San Francisco International Airport triggered a dangerous chain reaction.
Exec Jet 684 was instructed to turn LEFT on Echo — but instead turned RIGHT and taxied toward active Runway 28R. At the same moment, a Citation had already been cleared for takeoff and was beginning its takeoff roll.
What happened next forced the Citation crew to reject the takeoff and sent United Airlines Flight 2262 into a go-around.
In this video, we break down the ATC communications, the missed readback, the runway warning signs and lights, and the series of mistakes that allowed Exec Jet 684 to enter an active runway.
How did two pilots miss so many warning signs? And how close did this situation come to becoming something far more serious?
Watch the full breakdown to see how one wrong turn created chaos at SFO — and how quick reactions from pilots and air traffic controllers helped prevent the situation from escalating.
