The new Sadowsky MetroExpress Modern Fretless Bass brings the unmistakable Sadowsky approach to a beautifully executed four-string fretless bass. In this demo, Lars Lehmann takes one of the very first of these instruments through its paces, showcasing its roasted flamed maple fretboard with a hard poly coating — a striking feature that delivers plenty of clarity, sustain and beautifully pronounced overtones. Combined with a roasted maple neck, Okoume body with a Tobacco Sunburst Transparent High Polish finish, two Sadowsky Soapbar pickups, this is a fretless bass built for both visual impact and expressive playing. From the passive sound of the individual pickups to the active two-band preamp with bass and treble boost, Lars explores the tonal range of the MetroExpress Modern Fretless Bass in detail. It also features Sadowsky's Quick String Release Bridge, height-adjustable Just-A-Nut III, light open-gear tuners, side dots that make it easier to play in low light and a convenient quick-access electronics compartment cover.
