Most AI output sounds the same because it draws from the same generic internet. A local knowledge base — a context vault you own — gives your AI your business, your clients and your voice, so it can finally do work that represents you.
The moment you want AI to represent your work, fit your clients and sound like *you*, the public internet isn't enough. So I built my own knowledge base — a local vault I call my Context OS. In this video I walk you through why you need one too, and the thinking behind mine.
I cover the two principles that run through everything I do — plan before you build, and understand the problem before you solve it — why the vault lives locally and why that means a paid plan, how an AI "librarian" keeps it structured as it grows, why Markdown is your AI's mother tongue, and how Obsidian lets you see and edit it. By the end you'll know what today's setup is for, and the four things to build:
1. Your local folder — your vault
2. The connection to Claude Code — one central workstation
3. Obsidian — so you can see and edit it
4. Your first CLAUDE.md — the instruction your AI reads at the start of every session
Nothing you set up is written in stone. Everything can be updated or reorganized later.

I'm Michelle, a systems architect. This is part of the foundational training in my AI Capability Lab, where I teach founders, freelancers and teams to expand their entrepreneurial capability and make AI their best leverage.
If this was useful, leave a comment with the one thing your AI keeps getting generically wrong — I read every one.
