Amtrak ALC-42 Locomotives

In this video, we look at Amtrak's newest locomotives built by Siemens Mobility in Sacramento, California. After successful runs with the SC-44 Charger Locomotive series, Amtrak wanted a Siemens Charger that can handle the long-distance passenger trains. So, the ALC-42 was created to replace the aging fleet of Amtrak Genesis P42DC/P40DC locomotives. Most of these ALC-42 locomotives can be found on the Amtrak Empire Builder at the time of creating this video. The eventual plan is to be on other long-distance trains. Enjoy the video!
