What Do You Already Know You Need to Do?
What if the answer to your prayer starts with something you already know you need to do?
You want the breakthrough, but you’re waiting for perfect conditions. You want the opportunity, but you’re waiting to feel completely confident. You keep asking God for another sign, another confirmation, another word.
But maybe the real question isn’t, “What else do I need God to tell me?” Maybe it’s, “What have I already understood that I haven’t acted on?”
📖 At the wedding in Cana, the wine ran out. Mary turned to the servants and said: “Do whatever He tells you.” (John 2:5)
Then Jesus gave an instruction that didn’t seem to fit the problem. They needed wine, and He told them to fill the jars with water. They obeyed, and they filled them to the brim.
The miracle belonged to Jesus. The obedience belonged to the servants.
In this message:
✅ Why the instruction didn’t seem to match the problem
✅ The difference between what only God can do and what’s yours to do
✅ Why “filled to the brim” is a lesson in excellence
✅ Why you shouldn’t despise a simple instruction
✅ How to discern genuine guidance from spiritual manipulation
✅ A practical 7-day morning question
✅ A powerful prayer for obedience over your career, business, finances, relationships and family
You can’t force someone to hire you, but you can prepare for the interview. You can’t force customers to buy, but you can make sure your product solves a real problem. You can’t manufacture a miracle, but you can faithfully do what’s in front of you.
Ask honestly: “Am I neglecting a responsibility while praying for an outcome?”
But be wise. Not every instruction someone claims came from God actually did. Test what you hear against Scripture. Faith never requires you to surrender discernment. And obedience isn’t a formula that guarantees results. You’re responsible for faithfulness, not for possessing God’s power.
🗒️ Your 7-Day Challenge:
Every morning, ask: “What’s one thing I already know I need to do, but I’ve been postponing?”
A conversation. A course. Your finances. An unfinished project. An apology. A boundary. A neglected spiritual habit.
Write it down. Pray for wisdom. If it’s right, responsible and within your ability, do it. Don’t wait to feel perfectly ready.
🙏 Declare:
“I will not neglect what God has placed within my responsibility. I will do what is right. I will act with wisdom. I will obey His Word. I will work faithfully, and I will trust Him with the outcome.”
If you believe this, type Amen in the comments.

📖 Scripture: John 2:1–11
May the Lord give you wisdom to recognise your next step, courage to act, patience to wait, and peace to trust Him with every outcome. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
