DEAD MALL TOUR: Full Tour Of Stratford Square Mall | Bloomingdale, IL

Filmed: 8/24/2023 I didn’t do a voiceover this time because last time it sucked so I talked during the video instead. This is my local mall and it’s really dead as you can see. Opened in 1981 as stratford square mall (same name to this day) with stores: marshall field’s (Macy’s and closed 2017), wieboldt’s (JCPenney and closed 2013 or 2014), carson pirie scott (closed 2018) and montgomery ward (Burlington and moved out feb 2023) and Sears and kohl’s were added on later. Sears was added in 1991 (closed 2019) and kohl’s was added in 1985 as MainStreet and converted to kohl’s in 1988. Main elevator installed in 1981 by montgomery which was not in the same spot as the current one and removed in 1999 to be replaced with a 1999 MontgomeryKONE. The movie theater elevator was added in 2007 and the montgomery freight elevator from 1981 was modernized in 2007 aswell by KONE and they completely replaced the doors and basically converted it into a service elevator to serve 2 extra floors for the movie theater. Ever since JCPenney closed first it basically just created a domino effect on every store.
