What If Gran Torino Trained Quirkless Deku

Gran Torino finds a quirkless ten-year-old named Izuku Midoriya crying on a bench and decides to train him, four years before All Might chooses a successor. Over five years, the old hero teaches Izuku to read movement, fall safely, and survive as the weakest person in the room while a boy named Bakugo burns him and teachers look away. Toshinori Yagi watches in his thin, civilian body as Gran Torino builds the successor he refused to find himself—the quirkless boy Nana Shimura would have recognized. Izuku enters U.A. without a quirk, wins his match against Todoroki by making him use his fire, and takes the name Deku in front of his class. After the Sports Festival, All Might offers him One For All at the same bench where Gran Torino first handed him a taiyaki, and the boy eats the hair while the old man laughs.
