In this episode of The Planet Crafter, I finally make the trade I've been avoiding for ten episodes: I rip the headlights off my rover 🚗 to install unlimited oxygen instead. From this point on the car breathes forever — but every trip after dark just got a lot scarier. I've wanted this blueprint since I started this playthrough, and today I finally build it: unlimited oxygen for my rover. Getting there means grinding through obsidian, osmium, super alloy and a small mountain of fertilizer just to unlock the upgrade slots, and my inventory ends up packed tight enough that I have to start choosing what stays and what goes. That choice comes down to one brutal trade-off — the vehicle only has room for so many upgrade slots, and the headlights are the one thing standing between me and permanent air. I pull the lights, install the oxygen tank, and drive straight into the aluminum biome hunting for zeolyte, because without it none of this upgrade matters. The dark 🌑 hits fast and hits hard — I'm navigating by memory and by the glow of whatever resource nodes I can spot in the distance. I pass the ruined base of the terraformer who came here before me, push the rover further than I've ever taken it, and eventually run out of road entirely at what looks like the literal edge of the map. Along the way there's a lava jump that nearly ends the run, a wrecked ship I somehow missed before, and — finally — the obsidian 💎 deposit that's been eluding me for days. By the end of the episode the car breathes forever.
