South Devon Railway Easter Gala 20th April 2025

South Devon Railway hold an Easter Gala showcasing steam and diesel power over the 6.64 mile line. Locos was in use on the 20th April was GWR 4575 class no.5526, GWR 1366 class Pannier no.1369 & BR Class 33 no.33002 Sea King and later that day BR Class 25 no.25262 (D7612). The gala was an enhanced two train timetable with a freight train running between Buckfastleigh & Staverton on brake van rides alongside two passenger train set with one 5 Mk1's coaches and a typical branch line 3 Great Western Railway coaches. 5526 failed with a broken spring hanger bolt requires the spring to be removed on the return journey on the second round trip of the day causes the class 25 to be called into action to replace the failed prairie tank.
