Transport for Wales new trains at Shotton. Featuring Class 197s and 230s.

7th September 2022 at Shotton. A good place to watch the testing and training phases of the new CAF Class 197 fleet and Vivarail Class 230 'D-Train' sets which are modified from 1978 London Underground D78 stock. The weather wasn't perfect, but there were several runs between Chester and Llandudno Junction through the low level platforms on the North Wales Coast Line. And a return working from Bidston to Wrexham and return ran on the nearby high level lines of the Borderlands Line, also passing over the impressive Hawerden Bridge spanning the River Dee near Shotton station.
