The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) will remain on high alert to respond to any sporadic protests or violence in Durban or Johannesburg. This was heard during a media briefing by the National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure - NATJOINTS - in Durban, on Saturday night. Chaos broke out in the Durban CBD as well as Soweto and Johannesburg, earlier this week, following violent anti-undocumented immigration protests. 30 arrests have since been made, 25 in KwaZulu-Natal and five in Gauteng, for offences including public violence, illegal gathering, obstruction and resisting arrest. SABC News' Calvin Dludla reports from Durban. For more news, visit sabcnews.com and #SABCNews on all Social Media platforms.
