Stories from rural Zenica | DONJE BABINO | Ćetenija a traditional sweet

Do you know how ćetenija is made and why preparing it once brought entire groups of people together? In this video story, members of the Babinke Women's Association from Donje Babino show us how ćetenija is made – a traditional Bosnian sweet that was once prepared for special occasions, family gatherings, and long winter evenings spent together. Through the shared preparation of ćetenija, they take us back to a time when recipes and skills were learned from mothers and grandmothers, and when spending time together and working as a group were just as important as the sweet itself.
