One Guqin harmonic remains. The teacher waits. Then comes the question: What should strategy serve? In The Supreme Teaching《太上之教》, the answer is not glory, conquest, or victory for its own sake. The song turns instead toward: 与人除害 · 此问为民 Remove harm for the people. The question is for the people. The transmitted dialogue asks whether a teaching may be given to stop suffering among ordinary people. From that question, the musical journey develops two interlocking teachings: 问 · 察 · 护 · 止 Ask · Observe · Protect · Stop 心 · 志 · 理 · 机 Heart · Intention · Principle · Opportunity Before asking for technique, ask the heart. Before asking how to prevail, ask what must be protected. Before power is given, purpose must become clear. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ THE HEART OF THIS CHAPTER 教从问起，术在其后。 问术之前，先问其心。 所求为何？ 所护为何？ 若只争胜，胜亦何成？ 若为止害，方知所行。 Victory may last a moment. Harm may rise again. Strength may break resistance, yet strength alone cannot bring peace to the people. 能胜非终 · 能止为先 Victory is not the end. Knowing when harm should stop comes first. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ FOR THE PEOPLE · 与人除害 田仍须种。 水仍须饮。 老人有家。 幼子有亲。 The fields must still be cultivated. Water must still be drawn. The old must have a home. Children must still have those who love them. 民不可弃 · 生不可轻 The people must not be abandoned. Life must not be treated lightly. If harm can cease: 人可复耕。 路可复通。 家可复宁。 People may cultivate again. Roads may open again. Homes may return to peace. 术若有德 · 用在护生 When method carries virtue, its purpose is the protection of life. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ✦ ORIGINAL POEM 玄问先心，不问兵锋。 护生止害，方见其功。 理明然后动，机待时开。 六甲未陈，玄机将来。 Before technique, ask the heart. Before victory, ask what is protected. When harm is ended and life can return, the hidden teaching may begin. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🎼 SOUND WORLD Guqin · Dongxiao · Sheng · Bianqing · Yunluo 60 BPM sacred Chinese acoustic dialogue. The arrangement deliberately avoids militaristic percussion and combat spectacle. Instead, Guqin, restrained Sheng, Dongxiao, resonant Bianqing and rare Yunluo create a space for listening, questioning and ethical reflection. The closing does not reveal the next method. It ends at the threshold: 六甲未陈 六壬未启 玄机之法将开 The Six Jia have not yet been revealed. The Six Ren have not yet opened.
