Indian Navy rescues 20 crew from Somali Pirates; INS Azini Hijacking ends in daring 48-hr operation

Indian Navy liberates fishing vessel Azini from armed pirates in a swift operation lasting over 48 hours. All 20 crew members of the fishing vessel Azini were safely rescued, with no casualties or injuries reported. Fishing vessel Azini was reportedly hijacked by armed pirates off Somalia’s northeastern coast last month. The hijacked vessel posed a major maritime security threat, potentially serving as a ‘mother ship’ for pirate attacks. Indian Navy deployed a mission-ready warship and maritime reconnaissance aircraft to counter the pirate threat. Indian Navy platforms tracked the vessel through persistent surveillance and restricted its movement using calibrated non-kinetic measures. Marine Commandos were reinforced through a precision airdrop conducted by an Indian Air Force C-17 aircraft. Indian Navy secured the vessel, neutralised the pirate threat, and ensured the safe release of all 20 crew members. A coordinated Indian Navy operation successfully rescued all 20 crew members from armed pirates without any casualties. Indian Navy’s 48-hour operation thwarted a potential maritime security threat off Somalia’s northeastern coast. #IndianNavy #SomaliPirates #Azini #IndianNavyOperation #PirateAttack #BreakingNews #MaritimeSecurity Join ANI's YouTube membership to get access to perks:    / @aninewsindia   Subscribe now and press the bell icon 🔔 to get new video updates: https://bit.ly/2UV4ygi -------------------------------------- ANI is South Asia's leading Multimedia News Agency providing content for every information platform, including TV, Internet, broadband, newspapers, and mobiles.
