Digging Up Purple Sweet Potatoes Until My Basket Is Full | Rural Life in Vietnam

Welcome to Trieu Tam Tam! Living in a mountainous area, I grow sweet potatoes on the hillsides near my home. Today, I head to my sweet potato field with a hoe to dig up the potatoes hidden beneath the soil. One by one, I carefully loosen the earth and pull out the freshly harvested sweet potatoes until my bamboo basket is completely full. After carrying the heavy basket home, I wash away the dirt and mud covering the sweet potatoes. Instead of selling them raw, I decide to boil them in a large pot over the fire. Once the sweet potatoes are fully cooked, I take one out to taste. Although they may not look particularly beautiful on the outside, they are soft and delicious, making me confident that customers will enjoy them too. I bring the freshly boiled sweet potatoes to the village market to sell. Boiled sweet potatoes are a familiar countryside food that many people enjoy as a simple and filling snack. After selling everything, I return home to work in my garden, loosen the soil, and plant fresh vegetables for the next growing season. The following day, I head to my family's vegetable field to harvest fresh **Napa cabbage (Chinese cabbage)**. Unlike round cabbage, Napa cabbage has long, tender leaves and a mild, slightly sweet flavor. After selecting the vegetables that are ready, I carefully harvest them and bring them to the village market to sell, earning some extra income from the crops I grow myself.
