In this continuation of Knowing Your Surroundings: The Sword of the Spirit, Sandielyn Taylor goes deeper into how believers can practically understand and use the Sword of the Spirit through the Word of God, praise and worship, fasting, silence, prayer, discernment, creativity, and obedience to the Holy Spirit.
The class opens with Psalm 82 and Psalm 28, followed by prayer and worship. From there, Sandielyn revisits the Word of Promise, Word of Truth, Word of Revelation, praise and worship as a weapon, the importance of stillness, and the power of recording what God reveals through writing, art, music, and testimony.
A major focus of this teaching is fasting as spiritual surrender. Sandielyn explains that fasting is not about forcing God to answer our demands, but about humbling ourselves, denying the flesh, seeking repentance, gaining clarity, and aligning ourselves with God's will. She connects this with Ezra 8:23 and Isaiah 58:6, emphasizing breakthrough, freedom, and deeper sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
Sandielyn also shares more of her personal testimony concerning the four swords she saw in a heavenly experience, describing them as pearl-like, emerald, crystal, and woven or tapestry-like. She explains how this experience changed the way she read Scripture, deepened her hunger for God, strengthened her identity in Christ, and helped her understand spiritual assignment and authority.
The Q&A explores important questions such as:
How does the Sword of the Spirit apply in everyday life?
How does our calling connect with spiritual warfare?
How do we move from reacting in the soul to responding in the Spirit?
How do we recognize when we are fighting the wrong battle?
How do dreams, visions, fasting, and spiritual discernment connect with our walk with God?
One of the strongest reminders from this class is:
“Whenever we are invested in the wrong battle, we are not on our Father’s business.”
Sandielyn encourages believers to stop being controlled by offense, fear, insecurity, and intimidation and instead remain focused on the Father’s business, their divine assignment, and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
The gathering ends with prayer for breakthrough, unity in the Body of Christ, spiritual growth, divine assignments, families, discernment, and victory in Jesus Christ.
