2026 09 27 Deconstructing the Rapture

What if almost everything you've been told about the Rapture isn't actually in the Bible? Secret disappearances. Empty cars on the highway. Millions "left behind." It makes a great movie, but is it what Scripture actually says? HOW CAN YOU TELL A FALSE GOSPEL? It's very easy. Any human effort, any fear-based control, any performance-based measure is a warning sign. In the Garden, Adam and Eve ate from a tree, and it produced sin-consciousness. The law was never given to make us holy. It was given to show us we can't fix anything by human effort, and through the law we became conscious of sin (Romans 3:20). But the Cross of Christ inoculated and neutralised the disease of self-effort and self-righteousness. So if any gospel produces fear and sin-consciousness, you know it's a false gospel. And if a Rapture theory produces even an ounce of fear, guilt, shame or condemnation, it's false too. This Sunday we're going back to the text: • What does the word "rapture" (harpazō) really mean? • What did the church believe for the first 1,800 years? • What are we actually being saved FROM? • And who, if anyone, is "left behind"? Yes, there will be a "catching up." But it might not look anything like what you've been taught. The Gospel is Good News. No fine print. No fear clause.
