The Valkyries Are Legitimizing the WNBA

The Golden State Valkyries are your 2026 WNBA champions, in just their second season. Joe Lacob promised a title within five years and delivered three years early. Spadoni and Shasky react to Game 7 and to what this title means for the Bay Area. The guys break down Gabby Williams' monster second half: 28 points after halftime and 30 overall. They argue it's one of the greatest postseason performances in Bay Area sports history. They also give credit to Veronica Burton, Stokes, and Tiffany Hayes for the clutch play that got the Valks over the hump. Then it gets bigger than basketball. Shasky explains why young boys wearing Valkyries gear matters. He tells a story about the girls he coached cooking the boys at practice. And he has a message for the online haters. The hosts also debate whether the Valkyries crowd is louder than Oracle in its prime. Then they ask the big question: does this title put Joe Lacob above Eddie DeBartolo? 0:00 – Valkyries Win It All, Three Years Early 2:19 – Gabby Williams' Historic Game 7 6:46 – Young Fans and the Rise of Women's Hoops 11:52 – Louder Than Oracle?
