Sat, Sept 26, 2026, Railside Riders rode to the Johnson Train Tunnel and the Steel Dam. We started out riding through private property, so the first part of the ride is not in the video. We picked up the 160 pipeline near FR6. There were turned south to FR9183Y. We rode where the actual tracks were. We have to climb over a pile of rocks, the continued to the tunnel. Then we walked through the tunnel and explored on the other side. After the tunnel, we rode back to FR6 and stopped at the slab of the old Welch train station. Then we went back to pipeline 796 and rode west. After going through the gates for the train, we turned on FR160e to the 160 pipeline. We followed it west and stopped at an overlook for the Steel Dam. Due to lack of rain and snow, the lake formed by the dam was completely dry. We continued on 160 and turned at 9731a to the Steel Dam. After exploring the dam, we took the 796 pipeline back to FR6, turned north and followed it to FR124. Took it back to Williams. The train tunnel & steel dam have a rich history. It's worth your time to research them both. Great ride with great people! Happy Trails!
