Starting at Edinburgh Waverley, Virgin Cross Country liveried 43068 departs with the 08.50 Edinburgh-Penznace. Intercity liveried 43065 was on the rear. This would be seen again at Carlisle as it ran via Glasgow Central. At Carlisle 37680 runs to Kingmoor Yard and returns with a ballast train, 43065 and 43068 are seen again before we see 60032 running round and departing with a Stanlow-Jarrow oil train. 37334 heads to Kingmoor Yard with 2 slurry tanks from Workington then 43156 and 43193 depart with the 09.10 Aberdeen-Plymouth and 37713 heads away from the station. 325014 works a mail train from Glasgow and shortly after 47281 departs with a Carlisle-Crewe MOD train. 37680 passes through once more with its ballast train and 90014 is seen with 86101 on the 12.40 Euston-Glasgow. The day concluded with 56133 working the 6M27 Mossend Yard-Willesden then 86627 and 86608 with the 4L60 Freighliner from Coatbridge. At Edinburgh Waverley GNER liveried 43111 and 43118 depart with the 07.50 Inverness-Kings Cross followed by 43158 and 43157 working the 09.10 Aberdeen-Plymouth. 60018 departs with the 6D38 Oxwellmains-Uddingston cement before 91011 arrives with the 09.00 Kings Cross-Edinburgh. This is followed by 37510 and 37802 departing with an empty MGR train. 47492 and 47791 run through light engine a few minute before 37406 passes with an engineers train. GNER liveried 43120 and 43117 with a set of matching coaches departs with the 10.30 Kingss Cross-Aberdeen and 91016 heads for Glasgow Central with the 11.00 from Kings Cross. A month later 37891 passes Kirkcaldy with the 6E67 Montrose-Thrislington lime empties also conveying cement wagons from Aberdeen.
