Hawaii Doctor's Attempted Murder Plot Trial: Full Opening Statements

The trial for Doctor Gerhardt Konig began this week. He allegedly pushed his wife toward a cliff, tried to inject her with a syringe, and struck her repeatedly with a lava rock. Konig pleaded not guilty and faces a charge of attempted second-degree murder. In opening statements, the state claims that his wife was having an affair, and he was at the end of his rope. The defense says this was not a premeditated plan to take her up the mountain and try to kill her in broad daylight.
