Taking you all the way back to 96 with a British classic - Firestarter by The Prodigy. I think I was about 10 when this came out and me and my friends went insane. Went out and bought The Fat of The Land and then discovered Music for the Jilted Generation. This was also around the same time the film "Hackers" came out and had Voodoo People on the soundtrack (and Open by Leftfield) SUCH GOOD DAYS. The nostalgia is real. I want to be a kid again. I would love to know from my friends in the US - were The Prodigy big out there? I have the feeling they were pretty big in the UK & Europe but not so much in the US and further afield? Would love to know! This mashup came together quite easily but once again some things to note. The audio in this is just about on the threshold of being usable. Stuff off the Fragile is so textured that stem splitting doesn't work very well. Usually I like to have at least offical set of stems for a mashup but there are no official stems available so I've had to split them myself and just live with the audio quality. Still, I've tried to not get too bogged down in perfection. It was just super fun to crank these up loud and enjoy myself. I would like to dedicate this mashup to the memory of Mr Keith Flint. The artefacts you hear in the vocals are a by product of stem splitting and pitch shifting. It's not ideal and I don't like how it affects the vocal but nothing can be done to repair or prevent it during this process. I love music and this is a passion project.
