Stop exporting clips to separate software just to combine them. ActionForge now supports animation layers directly in your browser.
This update introduces a new timeline editor built for composing motion. By stacking clips, you can now blend movements, apply bone masks to isolate specific body parts, and fade transitions using simple drag handles—all without ever touching a keyframe.
This update is designed to speed up character animation workflows for game developers and artists using browser-based tools. Whether you need to combine a jump with an aim motion or adjust posture on the fly, ActionForge allows you to preview, layer, and export your final sequence directly to your engine of choice.
In this video I start with a backflip, then blend a bow aim onto the upper
body only so the legs keep jumping. I arch the chest mid-jump with an adjust
layer, add a shooting motion before landing, tweak the pose with IK, and
export the result as a single animation.
WHAT'S NEW IN THIS UPDATE
Strips timeline — drag and drop animations onto stacked layers
Bone masking — apply a layer to the upper body only, exclude the legs
Blend handles — fade each layer in and out, no keyframing required
Adjust layers — pose tweaks that only apply over the range you choose
IK layers — IK edits become their own blendable strip
Per-layer influence — dial back how much a layer contributes
Mute (M) and Solo (S) — audition layers without deleting them
Multi-select and delete — move or remove several strips at once
Auto / Manual frame range
Share links — send your composite to anyone, no account needed
WHY STRIPS
Before this update, any adjustment applied to the whole clip. If you wanted a
character to aim a bow only while jumping, there was no way to say "just for
these frames". Strips fix that. Each layer has its own range, its own blend,
and its own bone mask, so you can combine animations the way an editor
combines clips — without touching a single keyframe.
WHO IT'S FOR
Game developers who need custom character animations but don't want to
animate from scratch. Anyone using free animation libraries who's hit the
limit of what a single clip can do. Export to Blender, Unreal, Unity or Godot
when you're finished.
