This Facebook Marketplace Scam Is Fooling People in the Dominican Republic

Facebook Marketplace can be a great place to find deals in the Dominican Republic, but there’s a scam happening that’s much harder to spot than you might think. What makes this scam so dangerous is that the buyer is real. The seller is real. The product is real. You can even meet face-to-face, inspect the product, and STILL lose your money. The problem is there may be a third person involved that neither the buyer nor seller knows about. The goal isn't to make you afraid to use Marketplace. It's to help you understand how these scams work so you can recognize the warning signs before money changes hands.
