As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen social cohesion, SYCAC Organization has concluded the “Afrin Bridges – Play Brings Us Together” initiative, implemented by the Step Team in the city of Afrin. The initiative brought together people of different age groups and diverse social backgrounds, aiming to promote social cohesion through play-based learning as a tool for building trust among children.
A number of women received training in facilitating dialogue sessions, equipping them to take on leadership roles in community activities. The activities also reached dozens of children, who engaged positively, interacted with one another, and had the opportunity to get to know each other beyond social barriers.
The initiative concluded with “Afrin Corner,” an event featuring a variety of activities, including traditional singing performances, a dialogue session on the role of youth, and artistic displays showcasing the city’s heritage and history. The event brought community members together around their shared identity.
Through its support for initiatives of this kind, SYCAC continues to foster spaces that bring people closer together and make diversity a foundation for social cohesion and stability.
This project is funded by BMZ and implemented in partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH).
