After 7 months of setbacks, bad builders, and living off-grid with nothing — the build is finally back. And this time it's different. We've been living on a clifftop in Sumba, Indonesia for over 5 months. No power. No water. No toilet. And until three weeks ago — no progress either. Our first builder from Bali turned out to be the most expensive mistake of our lives. Bad wood, bad workmanship, termites. We tore down everything he built. Then the environmental permits hit. So we stopped everything and waited. Five months of nothing. Then we found Rooli — a builder from our own village who knows this land and the materials it needs. He showed up three weeks ago with 33 workers and six projects running simultaneously. Fence, pathways, service unit, driveway, outdoor kitchen, and our house. And if that wasn't enough chaos — we brought the dogs home. The whole family is on site now. Living in the middle of a construction zone. Dodging workers, dust, and deadlines.
